Born in Ankara in 1975, Dr. İlker YAZICI graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in 1998. In the same year, he started his specialization at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. Dr. received his Plastic Surgery Specialization in 2004. Yazıcı worked as a Research Fellow at the Plastic Surgery/Microsurgery Department of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in the USA for a period of 1 year and 3 months between 2004 and 2005.
During this time he published many original articles. Among these, there are the first living applications of bony face transplantation, upper jaw and tooth transplantation with preserved nutrition. Apart from facial transplantation, he gained experience in microcirculation, tissue freezing techniques and nerve experimental surgery during this period.
